The Young Professionals (Young Pros)
is a life stage specific ministry in which professionals in their 20s and 30s find opportunity for community and growth. We desire to creating a place where we can figure out together what it means to follow Jesus, build authentic community, serve our neighbors in need, and reach out to our friends.

The Gathering: Richard Foster suggests that, “Satan majors on three things: noise, crowds, and hurry (Celebration of Discipline).” There are not many places in our society that offer the opportunity to slow down and meditate on the things of God. The Gathering is a time to when we come together to connect, learn, and grow (Tuesday night at 7:30pm: room 9-lower level). We feature a monthly event night and weekly Bible study. We are currently in a series on the book of Acts. If you are a single young pro, we’d love to have you join us!! Please contact Matt Koons with any questions (matt.koons@hudsonchapel.org)

Small Groups: The central ministry model of Jesus is discipleship. He employed twelve key individuals whom he relationally invested. Moreover, he does not simply lead by example, but via command. In Matthew 28.19-20 Jesus states, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” Thus, we would define discipleship as follows: “Discipleship is an intentional relationship in which we walk alongside other disciples in order to encourage, equip and challenge one another in love to grow toward maturity in Christ. This includes equipping the disciple to teach others as well (Ogden, Discipleship Essentials, 17).” We believe that accountability is an important issue for each Believer. We were not meant to be islands unto ourselves. Rather, God has called us to a community which actively encourages one another in the areas of struggle and success. The writer of Hebrews suggest, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds (10.24).” If you are interested in going deeper in relationship with other and Christ, checkout one of the YP small groups.

YP Serve: The Young Pros are involved with HCC’s First Serve program. The third Saturday of the month there is opportunity for YP to serve together. We believe that maturity in Christ is not simply an inward or upward expression; it is also an outward action. In Matthew 22.37-39 Jesus clearly states, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’…And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The objective is that Young Pros would serve each other, the greater HCC community, Northeastern Ohio, and the world (see Acts 1.8).
